The posters on Berlin walls are changing everyday, almost hourly. Additionally there’s a big and active graffiti- and street-art movement. “City Sampling” aims to reach all people who are part of this collective design process, may this happen legally or illegally, on purpose or not.

Even if we would describe many of these places as not pleasant visually, you can always find interesting forms and compositions here.
“City Sampling” uses found footage: The combination of torn down posters, bricks and graffiti is chosen by composition, framed and photographed, and then transformed into a poster series which is attached on the wall again, right next to the original. This unusual presentation aims at the citizens looking closer at their surroundings. At the same time it functions a snapshot of a state which will never be the same again.
